Dear ODP Portal User,

Dear ODP portal quality committee member,
-
the organization of WOP 2010, the 2nd Workshop on Ontology Patterns co-located with ISWC 2010 in Shanghai on November 8th, would like to invite you as a user of the ontology design pattern portal to submit an ontology engineering problem proposal to the workshop.
+
would like to ask for your help in preparing the program of the WOP2010 workshop [1]. The workshop will contain a practical part, a "pattern writing" session where participants will collaboratively develop new pattern candidates addressing some ontology engineering problems. We have received 9 proposals [2] of problems, and we need to select 3 of these to address during WOP!
 +
The selection will be based on a voting among WOP PC members and the quality committee of the ODP portal, mainly based on the following two criteria:
 +
* Relevance of the problem and importance of a solution to the general ontology engineering community or within some specific domain.
 +
* Feasibility to arrive at a draft solution, i.e., pattern candidate, within the time frame of the workshop (2-3 hours).
-
Have you been considering how to solve a particular ontology engineering problem in a good way? And you didn't find any patterns in the portal that solve that particular problem? Are you going to attend ISWC 2010? Then here is you answer: submit your problem as a proposal for the WOP 2010 workshop! If selected, the problem will be discussed and potentially solved in the pattern writing session at the workshop!

Problem proposals can be either general or related to some specific domain, but your the envisioned solution should correspond to an ODP of one of the types listed at [1]. Submission instructions are found at [2].

Dear ODP portal quality committee member,

would like to ask for your help in preparing the program of the WOP2010 workshop [1]. The workshop will contain a practical part, a "pattern writing" session where participants will collaboratively develop new pattern candidates addressing some ontology engineering problems. We have received 9 proposals [2] of problems, and we need to select 3 of these to address during WOP!

The selection will be based on a voting among WOP PC members and the quality committee of the ODP portal, mainly based on the following two criteria:

  • Relevance of the problem and importance of a solution to the general ontology engineering community or within some specific domain.
  • Feasibility to arrive at a draft solution, i.e., pattern candidate, within the time frame of the workshop (2-3 hours).

Please help us, and enter your vote using this survey: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WGYYKF7 The survey will be open until October 27, i.e., one week.

Thank you for contributing!

Best regards,

WOP pattern chairs
